Threshold

UWE Festival, Etzdorf - 2025

Created during a transformative week at Kulturnetzwerketzdorf, “Threshold” explores the journey from darkness to light through creativity and inner work. Surrounded by heavier works, this mural became a visual and thematic bridge - inviting renewal, reflection, and hope.

The process was unique: my first (and last!) time using a projector to transfer text, experimenting with bold contrasts, and drawing from the unusual environment and extraordinary people around me. Spending a week in such a setting shaped the wall in ways that would not have been possible anywhere else.

The mural combines symbolic figures, text, and stark imagery to depict the struggle between fear and transformation. It reflects the idea that only by facing our shadows can we move toward a place where light and darkness coexist harmoniously.
