“Monologue” - Masholand at Moonlab 42

On October 22 MoonLab 42 marked its second birthday with a relaunch and an art show opening. Following the recent exhibitions of Arif Qazi and Phil Ashworth, the store featured Georgian visual artist Masho Margishvili to celebrate its Georgian heritage.

At MoonLab 42 Masho presented her latest works from the collection Monologue, which is the last part of the series of her exhibitions following Trialogue (Masholand's first solo exhibition which unfolded a relationship of three characters) and Dialogue (a collaboration with a Brooklyn-based Georgian photographer Dimitri Mais). In Monologue, Masho explored her most private thoughts, esoteric findings, and her night-time dreams. This deeply personal work will represent ideas that may seem superstitious for some but have been helping the artist overcome some challenges over the years.

The exhibition took place from October 22 through October 29th at MoonLab’s Harlem store.

how to pretend to be a human

(Masholand's exhibition by Art Up)

Art Up / Street Gallery is a digital art development movement creating an alternative, non-traditional space for exhibitions worldwide. The concept of Art Up / Street Gallery is to introduce printed digital art by using Art Boxes installed in open spaces and streets, absolutely free and accessible for everyone.

Tbilisi: Fabrika • ფაბრიკა

The illustrations, presented in the boxes, were made for Tallinn's creative district's "Telliskivi" 10th-year anniversary. They show Masholanders who act like humans and pretend to be the earth's inhabitants. By doing so, they try to elevate our mood and bring more joy to our daily lives.

"Trialogue" - Conversation of three

(Masholand's first solo exhibition)

The initial idea of the exhibition was the dialogue between the portraits, but when Masholand works had been creating, it appeared that each couple needed a third member as three points are necessary for the balance. That is how Trialogues were created.

The exhibition is one of the parts of the project, which will be executed in three different countries. Nine portraits, three still lifes (gouache, oil pastel, oil marker. 593mm x 841mm), and three canvases (acryl, oil pastel, oil marker. 600mm x 800mm) are presented in the “Trialogue” exhibition.

"DIALOGUE" - EXHIBITION

"Dialogue" - the exhibition took place in Fabrika on the 6th of November. It was part of the exhibition series. The first - "Trialogue" was a solo art show, presented in July 2015.
This exhibition was the dialogue between two artists (Dimitri Mais (@dimitrimais) and Masholand) of two different art fields - photography and illustration.
The one-day blitz show went well, with some lovely guests and autumn weather. The works were displayed in front of each other and were connected with purple lines. On the opposite side of the entrance wall, the video was projected.
Special thanks to the Fabrikaffitti team for the support, to Salome Momtsemlidze, and her team for the interview.
